    coltrane is a chapter in jazz himself.. you’d probably like the album ‘a love supreme’ by this same quartet.. very spiritual music.. very deep.

    Literally HUNDREDS of legendary players fell victim to MANY addictions….sex, gambling, ego (jaco)…and yes…drugs and liquor too.

    We all die…but history shows that musicians (even legends)
    either die of excess in youth …or of poverty after they’ve been long since forgotten.

    but THAT doesn’t negate their genius.

    I’m no junky, never was, never will be….my only addiction is ego. I genuwinely think my thoughts are better then your thoughts.

    Hey twintip5…”we already know the story” of Coltrane’s struggles with his personal demons. Why then is it neccesary to keep bringin that up. Why not just enjoy his music? His legacy is his music. wtf are you shooting??
