    This song was recorded at the height of the Civil Rights movement. People were in the street and fighting for the vote in Mississipi, Georgia and Alabama. The opening cadance of this song is based on the speech patterns of Martin Luther King, Jr. It is a tone poem to that living struggle back then.

    Anyway, the “Bebop” I’m talking about is a fictional character. It’s kind of obscure, but it’d be really cool if someone was here for the same reason. :)

    What Coltrane did for the Black/African American people cant be measured but I know as a White/European American he lets other generations (as well as the ones from that time that were willing to listen) of White/European American see from another angle
